BEIJING-Anaheim-based Team USA advanced to its first Olympic men’s volleyball final in 20 years with a 3-2 victory against Russia Friday in a 2008 Olympic Games semifinal at Capital Gymnasium.
The U.S. won the opening two sets then missed a chance to put the match away in the third before finally prevailing 25-22, 25-21, 25-27, 22-25, 15-13, David Lee clinching the match with a huge block.
